Times are hard, and parents and school decision-makers need to know that school trips will be affordable, effective, comfortable, well managed (so that pupils are safe and entertained 24/7), and well worth the effort. Most important – the kids and teachers all have to have a good time!

At Hella Hella, schools are our core business. Between our directors, we have around 60 years of experience in making school groups happy. Our founder, Denis Drennan, is a veteran youth worker who has spent many years perfecting the integration of “adventure learning” in the outdoors with the current needs of youth in a changing, multi-cultural and challenging South Africa. He works closely with his son Craig as an effective family unit.

Hella Hella 2014 (86 of 340)The Hella Hella team has been hand-picked from young adults who have been participants in our mentorship programme amongst unemployed young adults in the peri-urban zones around Pietermaritzburg. Most of our team members have worked together with us for over 5 years. We consider ourselves role models for young people as we facilitate a fun-filled learning experience.

We provide a welcoming environment where people feel encouraged and confident enough to learn and grow. We believe in our specially chosen team of the right people whose combined efforts create the synergy necessary for the tasks at hand. We are committed to the balanced development and growth of people of all ages through appropriate programming in the outdoors – creating innovative activities that fit with the needs of each specific group. Our approach through experiential learning is to highlight strengths, as opposed to limitations.

We can facilitate in both English and isiZulu.
